Fire safety is the main theme of this story; it is something every child needs to learn about from a very young age, because no one ever wants to get be hurt by fire or things that can burn a person.

The seven lessons identified by Safety Educator Alyssa Kelly include:
1. Be careful of insects that may bite or sting.
2. Never leave hot drinks where they could spill or get knocked over.
3. Never try to light a barbeque.
4. Never carry containers of gasoline.
5. Never play with matches.
6. Never leave a stove unattended where something is cooking.
7. If there ever is an oil fire, an adult should use a damp cloth, a fire blanket or a fire extinguisher to control the fire. A person should never use water to put out an oil fire.
