AMAZING WORLD OF AUTOMOBILES, THE: 02 - MOTORING MASSES
We look at the advent of the machine that has kept us on the road over the last century. Since the earliest days, motoring has not exactly been cheap. In the beginning it was only the rich who could afford wheels, but then Henry Ford changed the way the world moved. Originally the Tin Lizzy cost $850, but eight years later, with efficiencies in production, the price had dropped to $360 dollars. By 1918, over half the cars in America were Model T?s. Ford also changed the way people worked in factories, becoming the father of the moving production line.
