WHAT IS ALCOHOLISM?
This DVD offers a glimpse into the struggles of teen alcoholics. Viewers will meet Lacee, Alberto, Christina, and Justin, four real teens from different ethnic backgrounds who share their personal stories of alcohol abuse and recovery. The program defines alcoholism as an addictive disease that affects people of all ages, races and social classes.

Psychologist Susan Tapert, Ph.D., who specializes in issues surrounding adolescent alcoholism, offers important information on how easily teens can become addicted to alcohol, and explains some of the unique problems faced by youth who become addicted. The signs and symptoms of alcoholism are also identified. The program emphasizes the pervasive negative impact that alcoholism can have on anRelations individual, a family and on society at large.
