DESIGN OF GAS TURBINE ENGINES, THE - THERMODYNAMICS & AERODYNAMICS
This Self-Directed Study Course introduces you to the fundamental principles for aerothermodynamic analysis and design of gas turbine components and systems, with insight into design practice. Selected gas turbine hardware is illustrated and described in the accompanying video. A companion personal computer program facilitates investigation of the effects of chosen design parameters on performance. Who should take this course? Intended for graduate engineers with knowledge of thermodynamics and an interest in design analysis and performance prediction. Learning objectives: Understand the choice of configuration and the determination of close approximations to optimum dimensions and flow angles. Develop simple methods for finding the performance characteristics of turbomachinery under various operating conditions.
