VIDEO GUIDE TO AGAROSE GEL ELECTROPHORESIS
Agarose Gel Electrophoresis is a standard method used to purify and separate fragments of DNA. DNA fragments of different sizes are separated from each other due to different migrational velocities during electrophoresis (in agarose gel) under the influence of an electric field. The presentation in this video tape starts with the scientific illustrations of the basic technique of electrophoresis and restriction enzymes. Scientific graphics/animations have been used to explain the basic principle of electrophoresis.

Live footage covers following steps:
~ Preparation of gel/running buffer
~ Casting gel tray with agarose
~ Loading DNA samples
~ Running electrophoresis
~ Gel staining and DNA bands visualization.
