LGBTQ Sensitivity Training for Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants in Long-term Care Facilities
We are all different. But those differences are less noticeable in the workplace because of what we share in common. We all work together. And we care for the same residents. As our workforce and resident population become more diverse, everyone should become more sensitive to our differences - the diversity in our workplace and in our society. An inclusive workplace accepts everyone.
In this program we will discuss the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender - or LBGTQ - population in our workplace. Recognizing our differences is an obligation we have to each other and to the residents in our care. We learn to adapt by:
~ Learning definitions of LBGTQ populations
~ Understanding our differences
~ Knowing how to communicate when those differences affect our work
