Examines the role Hong Kong played in the preservation of traditional Chinese learning. Presents the Hok Hoi Library, established by Lai Chi-hsi (who later established the Chinese Department of the University of Hong Kong) and other Qing Dynasty Hanlin Academicians, was Hong Kong's first public library and base for traditional Chinese learning.
